Blacky is a particularly special character for me. I can't claim even slightly that he's original or has a good backstory, and he doesn't really serve much of a role as a hero or even anti-hero, but I love his emoing to bits. He's one of my older characters and the first in the Pokémorph collection, and he's changed quite a lot over the years.

 Physical description

Blacky has two forms: his Absol form and his human form. In his natural Absol form, he's fairly normal, smaller than your average Absol, without so much blue in his tint (he's more grey than purple), with a limp in his right hind leg and a set of scars on his muzzle, which carry over to human form. In human form he's average height but dead skinny, with pale skin and slightly limp tousled white hair. His eyes are vivid red. He usually wears a black shirt way oversized, white jeans so big they barely stay on and black sneakers. Three very discreet old small scars on the bridge of his nose make it look as if he was scratched badly by a fork at some point. He almost constantly has an indignant glare on his face and more often than not walks with a heavy limp and runs kind of oddly (simply lifting his right hindpaw off the ground and running three-legged in Absol form). He has a kind of jerky elegance than he doesn't quite pull off.

Personality

In a word, Blacky is grumpy. He has complex mood swings that are overall just confusing to most. His standard outward emotion is antisocial aggression. His countenance screams "keep away from me" even while he moves among others; his behavior speaks either of an eclectic personality or his own motives (or maybe both). At the best of times he's difficult to understand, and has a strange tendency to go into fits of particular un-human-ness. He's proud and hates to rely on others, but ends up needing to because he's too stubborn to change himself. Things are a lot simpler in his mind -- he hates everything without exception or prejudice, just on the principle that it exists. He threatens more than he delivers but puts all his effort in when he lashes out, whether it's effective or not.

History

Born as an Absol under the name Sunfall Prince, Blacky led a fairly average Absol life raised by his sister Petaldance Kaiser. At the age of five, he wandered into a secret mountain laboratory out of curiosity, and was captured for use as an experiment. Over a brief course of drugs, some oral and some intravenous, the scientists endeavored to create a human out of a Pokémon. Blacky met two other experiments: the already failed Morpheus and a friendly Larvitar called Hyper. Blacky was terrified of the changes happening to him and developed hypersensitivity to touch, a phobia of needles and an aversion to eating anything given to him to eat. Mysteriously, the power cut out one night, and Blacky escaped with Hyper. They parted ways -- Blacky intending to rejoin his sister and pack, Hyper going back to his burrow in the mountain's heart -- after promising to meet up someday. The lab set Morpheus after them, and Blacky only escaped because Morpheus followed Hyper instead of him. He fled to his pack, but they rejected him as a freak and he made a living for several years in a desert at the foot of the mountains where he had been born. He met a mate, Moonray Wanderer, but spent a very short time with her before she was killed in a freak accident and Blacky was blamed for her death and marked as an Outsider (which technically made his name Sunfall Outsider but he chose not to adopt the new name for whatever reason). He fled the desert, leaving behind his infant Sandchild. After wandering for a while, Blacky heard that Pokémorphs were being randomly killed, and guessed that Morpheus had been instructed to kill all existing Pokémorphs to ensure the escaped lab experiments were erased. Three months after Morpheus's first showy murders discovered the Pokémorph Underground and was assigned to work under Donar; a few years later Blacky was promoted, and after that Keahi and Tempest also joined the team. The most recent events have found Jester (Winger's character) enter into the Pokémorph Underground. Donar has been shot and just for déjà vu's sake he has been accused of the murder. Jester helped him break out of jail... and the rest is yet to come! :D

Skills etc

Game-wise, Blacky is a level 40, with the moveset Roar/Bite/Slash/Shadow Ball, with a Lonely Nature. I can't remember his stats right now, sorry, I might update later. Roleplay-wise, he's alarmingly weak but in a pinch his hereditary awesomeness shines through in his exceptional speed and damage infliction. He can only use Bite and Slash in his Absol form, and can summon Shadow Balls at any time (and often does so just to play with them) but tends to use them as a minor offensive attack or not at all. If his back is against the wall he unleashes his freakish Roar attack, which can punch through walls or hurl opponents a good distance away. In full swing it is inaudible to human ears and just appears that he's produced a very small and very violent explosion. He can't sustain it for over a second and has to breathe a bit before repeating it, but it's handy if he needs a moment to change form or whatever. In human form, if mildly threatened, he'll either throw a Shadow Ball to distract his enemy and change, or run away (and change, depending on whether he expects to be attacked further). He has absolutely no special belongings, as he can't really carry them as an Absol, but sometimes when his leg is hurting him (not physically, just his distress made tangible) he'll wear the bandages applied to him in the lab, which are quite old and bloody, and they change with his form unless they fall off or he removes them.

Character secrets

Blacky is currently indistinguishable from a strangely-coloured human, though once he was less human-like; he used to wear a wizard's hat over his horn. Very early in production, his specialty wasn't Roar (which Absols can't learn) -- it was Sunny Day.
